The challenge
Moving beyond a subscription LMS
Stemtree wanted an in-house alternative to its existing LMS subscription, hosted on its own infrastructure. A standard LMS setup could not fully address its operating model: corporate teams and smaller franchise entities needed different levels of access, while each entity needed to use the learning platform independently.
Our approach
One platform, independent learning environments
- 01
Mapped the learning workflows and permissions needed by corporate administrators, franchise owners, instructors, parents, and students.
- 02
Recommended WordPress Multisite and LearnDash for deployment on Stemtree's own infrastructure, then customized the platform to support independent entity use and specific access requirements.
- 03
Supported rollout to initial franchise entities, which are already using the delivered LMS, and continued the partnership through ongoing platform support.
A real delivery challenge
Independent entities with distinct access requirements
The key architectural decision was to use WordPress Multisite as the foundation for a multi-tenant LMS. Smaller entities needed to operate independently within the wider platform, so the implementation paired entity-specific learning environments with custom roles and permissions.
